Ayman Al Sabha has nearly 20 years of healthcare experience, including 16 years of specialist experience in diabetes education and metabolic care.
Ayman obtained his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Jordan in 2005. He later pursued advanced certifications in diabetes education and obesity management. He is a SCOPE Certified Professional (Strategic Centre for Obesity Professional Education) and a Certified Insulin Pump Trainer. Ayman is trained in a range of advanced diabetes technologies including the MiniMed™ 780G, Omnipod DASH®, and Accu-Chek® Solo Patch Pump. He is also skilled in the use of continuous glucose monitoring systems such as the Dexcom G6 and FreeStyle Libre systems.
Ayman began his nursing career in Jordan, working in Medical-Surgical and Coronary Care Units (CCU), where he gained foundational experience in acute patient care and cardiometabolic health. In 2008, he joined Zayed Military Hospital in Abu Dhabi and developed specialist expertise in diabetes education, patient-centred care, and the integration of diabetes technologies. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Ayman was recognised for his dedication to patient care and public health education. He was also selected as a Core Faculty Member of the Imperial Diabetes Educator Training (IDET) programme under the leadership of Dr Nader Lessan. In 2023, Ayman was a finalist for the Angel Nursing Award in Dubai, which honours excellence in nursing and diabetes education.
Prior to joining Imperial College London Diabetes Centre, Ayman worked as a Diabetes Educator at Zayed Military Hospital, Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Ayman’s scope of practice includes diabetes education and management, insulin pump therapy and CGM technology implementation, cardio-renal metabolic patient support, and advanced obesity and weight management integration.
