Biography
Dr. Emad George has 36 years of medical experience, including 26 years as a Consultant in Diabetes and Endocrinology.
Dr. George obtained his primary medical degrees, Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MB BChir), from the University of Cambridge, UK, and was awarded an MD (Doctor of Medicine) from Cambridge for his thesis. Additionally, he earned a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education from the University of Bedfordshire, UK.
Dr. George has held numerous leadership positions, including serving as Medical Director at Imperial College London Diabetes Centre (ICLDC) from 2020 to 2023 and as Medical Education Lead from 2015 to 2020. He was also an Associate Postgraduate Dean in the East of England from 2011 to 2015. Most recently, he achieved SCOPE Certification in Obesity Management and became a Diplomate of the International Board of Lifestyle Medicine.
Prior to joining Imperial College London Diabetes Centre, Dr. George worked as a Consultant Physician with a specialist interest in Diabetes and Endocrinology at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, King’s Lynn NHS Trust, UK, from 1998 to 2015. Dr. George’s scope of practice includes the management of diabetes, endocrine disorders, obesity and bariatric care, and lifestyle medicine.
Field of Expertise
Dr. George is certified in Diabetes and Endocrinology as well as in Internal Medicine in the UK. He is SCOPE certified in Obesity and Bariatric Management and a certified Lifestyle Medicine Practitioner. He also possesses significant expertise in medical education and training and holds a professional coaching qualification.
