Biography
UK educated, Dr. Matthew Allum was trained at the world-renowned University of Oxford, King’s College London and Imperial College London Healthcare. He has an interest in obesity and metabolic medicine, type 1 and type 2 diabetes, as well as expertise in thyroid, parathyroid, pituitary and adrenal disorders. His research on primary aldosteronism has made him a contributing author to the Hammersmith Endocrine Bible. Medical education has also featured prominently for Dr. Allum and he is a regular teacher on MRCP courses, which enable junior doctors to specialise.
Dr. Allum moved from the UK to join ICLDC in 2016 and has been a member of the multidisciplinary team at the Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery Centre at the Zayed Sports City branch since 2017.
In 2021, Dr. Matthew Allum was recognised as an EASO National Clinical Fellow by the European Association for the Study of Obesity (EASO).
