Biography
Dr. Nesreen Hag Ahmed joins Imperial College London Diabetes Centre (ICLDC) with 11 years of specialist experience in internal medicine and endocrinology. She is an American Board-certified Consultant Endocrinologist in internal medicine, endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism. Dr. Nesreen joins ICLDC after working at WellSpan Health in Pennsylvania, USA.
Dr. Nesreen obtained her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Khartoum, Sudan. She then completed her residency in Categorical/Internal Medicine at Howard University Hospital, Washington DC, USA. Where she was hand-picked for an honour selection – pre-match.
Dr. Nesreen then pursued fellowship training in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at Howard University Hospital, Washington DC, USA. She was appointed as an Assistant Professor in 2017 at Howard University Hospital, where she participated in the teaching, research and clinical aspects of the residency and endocrinology fellowship programme. In 2019, she joined the International Medical Center in Jeddah as an endocrinology consultant and Assistant Professor, contributing to the residency programme and clinical practice.
Over the past 11 years, she has been involved in research projects, articles and publications. In 2014, she was granted the second award for her presentation at the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE) conference in Orlando, Florida. Additionally, in 2016, she received the Travel Grant Award for Fellows at the 2016 AACE meeting.
She is passionate about providing outstanding care to patients diagnosed with hormone-related conditions that affect the endocrine system including thyroid disorders, diabetes, adrenal and pituitary gland issues, obesity and polycystic ovarian syndrome.
