Biography

Dr. Shaza has more than twelve years of specialist experience in Diabetes and Endocrinology.

Dr. Shaza obtained her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Kordofan, Sudan, in 2002. She then pursued a postgraduate training program in Diabetes and Endocrinology in the Severn Deanery, Bristol, UK. Upon completion of her training, Dr. Shaza obtained the Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Endocrinology and Diabetes Mellitus, as well as General (Internal) Medicine, in 2018.

Dr. Shaza is a Member of the Royal College of Physicians (MCRP) of the United Kingdom. She also completed the Specialty Certificate in Endocrinology and Diabetes from The Federation of Royal Colleges of Physicians (FRCP) of the United Kingdom in 2013, and earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Diabetes (Merit) in 2015 from Cardiff University. In the same year, Dr. Shaza was awarded a Postgraduate Diploma in Endocrinology and Diabetes from Queen Mary University of London.

Prior to joining Imperial College London Diabetes Centre, Dr. Shaza worked as a Consultant Endocrinologist at Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Medical Group, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Scope of Practice
Dr. Shaza’s scope of practice includes specialisation in a wide range of diabetes care, including type 1 diabetes management with advanced diabetes technologies such as continuous glucose monitoring and insulin pumps, type 2 diabetes, antenatal care, and diabetes in both elderly and young patients. She is passionate about patient-centred care and believes strongly in patient and family education.

In Endocrinology, her expertise covers thyroid and parathyroid disorders, pituitary disorders, hypogonadism, osteoporosis, adrenal disorders, and endocrine antenatal care.

Type 1 diabetes including pump care and advanced technology use, antenatal care, thyroid, pituitary, osteoporosis, obesity, and adrenal disorders.
