Abu Dhabi residents can get a head start on their fitness resolutions for 2018, as the city’s leading community cycling event, “Cycle For Health UAE”, returns to Zayed Sports City Stadium.

The monthly event, organized by Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi and The Department of Health, is a great opportunity for residents to get active and start their 2018 fitness goals. Visitors can borrow bikes and helmets and cycle through the iconic Zayed Sports City Stadium at the free event.

The 1.9km course allows riders to cycle through Abu Dhabi’s impressive sports stadium in a safe and controlled environment, away from the hustle and bustle of traffic. Individual coaching and riding lessons are available for children and those who are less confident riding bikes.

Imperial College London Diabetes Centre will be encouraging visitors to walk 10,000 steps, with pedometers available for people to track their steps on the day. The initiative aims to encourage people to start walking more, a form of activity proven to be effective at helping reduce blood sugar levels.

“Cycle For Health UAE” will also feature a children’s play area, a chill-out zone for all ages and a range of healthy food options to help visitors start the new year on the right track.

Visitor parking is provided at Zayed Sports City Stadium, free of charge.

Held in partnership with Healthpoint and Imperial College London Diabetes Centre, all part of Mubadala’s network of world-class healthcare providers, “Cycle for Health UAE” has quickly become Abu Dhabi’s leading community cycling event, and presents the perfect venue for people looking to start 2018 on a healthy note.
