The quarter finalists for Play for Life Football tournament in Abu Dhabi, part of Imperial College London Diabetes Centre’s public health campaign have been confirmed.
The highlight of day 3 was definitely YAHSAT who won their match against Imperial College London Diabetes Centre (ICLDC) with a huge margin of 8-1. Equally thrilling was the match between Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD) and Mubadala which EAD won by a massive margin of 6-1.
Active Life by Daman moved to the next round by defeating ADNEC 4-0. Health Authority Abu Dhabi (HAAD) team showed some brilliant game and nimble footwork to ensure that they continued their journey in the ninth edition of the tournament. HAAD won their match 4-0 against Arwa .
The quarter final matches will be played tonight at the Zayed Sports City and the four semi finalists will compete for the tournament trophy on Thursday.
Taking place over a period of five days, Play for Life football tournament is a centrepiece of the public outreach campaign, ‘Diabetes.Knowledge.Action’ under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, of Imperial College London Diabetes Centre.
The Centre, which is part of Mubadala’s network of world-class healthcare providers, this year marks its 10th anniversary and has touched the lives of over a million people through its prevention, education, awareness and treatment work. To date, the tournament alone has seen over 2000 players take part from all backgrounds.
