Biography

Dr. Ahmed Al-Qaissi is a consultant, Endocrinology and Diabetes with over 10 years of experience in Endocrinology. 

Dr. Al-Qaissi completed his MBChB degree from the University of Baghdad, Iraq in 2002. He then went on to complete his specialty training in endocrinology and diabetes mellitus from 2013 to 2018 at Health Education England (HEE), London. He was awarded the Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in endocrinology and diabetes mellitus, general (internal) medicine from United Kingdom upon completion of his training. He also holds a diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, which he obtained in 2006, and a Doctor of Medicine in Diabetes, which he obtained in 2018 from Hull York Medical School.

Dr. Al-Qaissi is a member of the Royal College of Physicians of United Kingdom since 2012 and was awarded a status of Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of United Kingdom since 2021. He has also been granted the Specialty Certificate Examination in Endocrinology & Diabetes in 2015 in United Kingdom.

Prior to joining ICLDC, Dr. Al-Qaissi worked at Leeds Teaching Hospitals, United Kingdom, as a consultant in endocrinology and diabetes mellitus. He was also an honorary senior lecturer in medicine at Leeds University. 

Dr. Al-Qaissi’s scope of practice includes all aspects of general diabetes type 1 and 2 and endocrinology including thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal, gonads and pituitary gland, abnormal lipid profile, and abnormal electrolytes like calcium, sodium, magnesium, potassium, and vitamin D.
