Studies have also shown that bariatric or metabolic surgery may be more effective than lifestyle changes and medical treatments in managing blood sugar levels for certain individuals with type 2 diabetes. Following surgery, some people experience significant enhancements in their blood glucose levels, require fewer medications, and may even achieve complete remission of diabetes.
